Bringing the passion and spirit of Flamenco

Flamenco Appalachia began in 2019 with a small group of students under the guidance of Asheville-based Flamenco dancer Paola Tinoco. After several years of dedicated instruction, Paola launched the first Asheville Flamenco Festival in 2023 at the Diana Wortham Center for the Arts. With the help of the world recognized dancer and choreographer Daniela Tugues @danielatugues.

In addition to this flagship event, Flamenco Appalachia has performed at the LEAF Festival and various venues across Western North Carolina. Recently, the group welcomed Flamenco guitarist Jake Mossman, who shares a commitment to promoting authentic Flamenco.

Flamenco Appalachia is now working towards the production of the 2024 Asheville Flamenco Festival, scheduled for October 19th-26th, 2024, including masterclasses and performances at LEAF Festival and at AB Tech.

Fostering the growth and appreciation of authentic Flamenco.
